Raigad Fort: Ropeway, Entry Fees & Timings
Ropeway runs 6am–6pm daily. Trek is 1,400 steps. Entry ₹50 for adults. Everything you need to plan your visit — before you leave home.

Where Shivaji Was Crowned King
Raigad Fort served as the capital of the Maratha Empire under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. His coronation in June 1674 took place here at 1,356 metres above sea level — one of the most politically consequential moments in Deccan history.
The fort complex holds the Jagdishwar temple, the royal market street Peth, and Shivaji's samadhi. Arrive before 8am on weekdays to walk the plateau without the weekend crowd.
